I could SO have written this post!! I have used Well Planned Day and was a beta on the online planner as well. Am back to thinking of creating my own planner, as you did. HST does look a bit intimidating, though I have friends who highly recommend it. I’m an Excel girl, so will be making mine with that, too. Thanks so much!

I have this and am planning to use it for next year. I want to do the read alduos from the Book of Virtues and discussion questions. I also am going to encourage my kids to write the quotes in their commonplace books. I think I will leave it up to them what other things they want to do. There are lots of fun activities that tie into each story/virtue. I think the program looks wonderful. I am excited to try it.Blessings,Faith

I just wanted to thank you for the artlice that you wrote in TOS’s Homeschool 101 e-magazine. I am home teaching my three beautiful children, all considered normal (though I have yet to understand what normal really is). I am so encouraged by the teaching methods, patience, and down-to-earthness of special needs homeschooling moms, that I constantly find myself preferring their take on homeschooling issues. You really dispel the fears that all mothers have when dealing with difficulties that arise in homeschooling. Anyway, thanks for being such an encouragement. God bless you and your family.

If you like Henty, you should also look at the Colonial Series by Edward Stratemeyer. These Henty style books, originally published just after Henty, are just as historically accurate as Henty, and have very thrilling plots.

Henty is a wonderful author. I have read this book dozens of times and it is always fresh. The scenes are vivid, the plot is involving, and the characters are marvellous!
